Spring is filled with reminders of resilience and renewal. In the hen house, ladybirds start paying back all that loving kindness around March once daylight starts to noticeably linger longer.
Over this past year, Stella developed a rooster's spur on her left leg - maybe a sign of transition into henopause? But then in early March, shortly after wrapping up her 9th year, we found her beautiful little cream-colored egg in the nest box with the others. She persists.
